Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A small pit was located next to Biddick Gill on the Biddick Hall estate. It was still operational into the 1850s, though is listed as disused by the 1890s. This pit was likely owned by the Lambton Estate, as it was named after a local feature similar to many in the area.
