HER Description

NEHL - A golf course was situated on the Flass Hall estate. The estate dates from the early 16th century, though the golf course was only in existence from around the 30s. It was fairly extensive, stretching down to the River Deerness, into a separate field north of the meander, and continues eastwards towards Rag Path Cottage as seen on the 1947 25 inch Ordnance Survey map. Nowadays, the whole course is farmland.
