HER Description

Shown on Ordnance Survey Second Edition of 1896

NEHL - The tennis court is shown on the Newcastle Town Plan of the late 1890s, featuring a small changing facility, but is seemingly between fields and new affluent developments, so was not built long before. By the 1930s/40s the court had disappeared for housing development.
