HER Description

NEHL - The cricket ground backed off Chillingham Road, and stood next to Newcastle's East End FC.s football ground It seems there were scarce facilities, with the players perhaps using St. Gabriel's Church or a nearby terrace as its changing rooms.

Ordnance Survey

'Sketches of The Coal Mines in Northumberland and Durham' T.H.Hair, published in 1844

Site of the cricket club, which has since been developed with terraced housing. The streets are half the size as surrounding terraces due to the railway developing on the old football ground.
