Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A shaft was operating at this site on High Toft Hill in the middle of the 19th century, and ceased by the end.

It is visible on the 1850s Ordnance Survey maps as a working directly linked to Little Moor Far, with a straight footpath leading to the shaft. A single building is also located above ground. It is not known whether this was an isolated working or part of a wider network, though it is certainly related to the Providence Pit 100m or so east.

The shaft can no longer be seen above ground.
