Description (or HER record listing)

This is the site of a coal mine. There were many collieries in this area of southeast Northumberland. This colliery seems to have stopped work before the mapping took place - no buildings and the like are noted, apart from an old wagonway. Many wagonways were shared ventures between different owners - this may explain the better recognition of this aspect of the site.
