Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A small coal shaft was sunk west of Medomsley village in the mid to late 19th century and was abandoned by the 1890s. Due to its proximity with Medomsley Colliery it may be connected with this working. There is no visible sign of any railway or tramway connection, and appears to be a standalone shaft.
