Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - There were two drifts on either side of the Hedleyhope Burn, connected by a single track tramway on a viaduct over the stream. Little appears to be known about these drifts. The North Drift appears more significant than the south, having its own pit pond and large waste heap which may still be extant.

The viaduct has been demolished. One solitary building can be found at Cowsley Row which appears to have been part of the terraces which were built to house pitmen here.
