NEHL - Newburn Football Club played at a ground near Newburn Sands throughout the middle of the 20th century. Newburn played in the higher echelons of the local leagues, facing regular opposition against teams like Blyth Spartans, Ashington, South Shields and Morpeth Town. They also played in the FA Cup throughout their lifetime, managing to get through to the 3rd qualifying round on a number of occasions against Ashington and Hexham Hearts.

The ground itself was also used for local carnivals and amenities. There was a clubhouse on the northernmost end bordering allotments on the south. The ground has since been demolished.

Thanks to Peter McDonough for the submission.
