HER Description

NEHL - A cricket ground could be found just north of Jarrow Park, neighbouring the Pontop & Jarrow Railway. It was presumably used by Jarrow Cricket Club, though this isn't certain. Facilities were austere, with no pavilion. It was likely the club used the church on Park Road as changing rooms.

Rugby was also held at the ground in the 1890s, utilised by Jarrow 1sts in the Wearside League.
