Blackhall Colliery FC, Blackhall CC

HER Description

NEHL - A recreation ground was constructed by Blackhall Colliery to provide leisure facilities to workers and their families between the 1940s and 1950s. Interestingly there was a Blackhall Colliery FC playing long before the football ground was established as shown in a 1916 edition of the Newcastle Journal. It may have been the case they were playing at this site before its construction.

Blackhall CC also use the welfare ground as their home site.
