Description (or HER record listing)
This is the site of the June Pit owned and operated by the Delaval Family. The family owned and operated many coal-mining sites in the Seaton Delaval-Seaton Sluice area. This was linked to a nearby wagonway which issued from the Chatham Pit to the harbour at Seaton Sluice. By the 1860s the site was unrecognised as a coal-mining site. It is unknown when this site was working - though it was sunk from 1787 to 1788.
