Description (or HER record listing)

NEHL - A coal shaft could be found in a small field west of Kimblesworth Colliery through the 19th century. The shaft is labelled as old as early as the 1850s, so it may date earlier than the 19th century.

Via satellite imagery it appears there is a small mound where the shaft is located, though this is inconclusive. This is also the case on LiDAR data.
